HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

I don't know if you remember this from the 1992 Olympics, but it made me cry then and it makes me cry now. (The video below isn't in English, but it doesn't need to be!) The most heart-wrenching part is about 1 minute and 17 seconds into it when Derek Redmond just falls into his dad's arms. The look on his face is so moving. Obviously, the analogies are endless, and I'm sure my father's sermon illustrations tomorrow will be much better than any of my attempts. But I am thankful for an encouraging father who has run to my side and has walked with me through painful times, and I am grateful to my heavenly FATHER that I don't have to run the course alone.

Thanks, Dad, for reminding me about this video.

Derek’s dad: “Come on, son. You and I will do this together."
"...let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus..."

Oh, man. I've never seen that. I'm sitting at my desk at work trying not to cry. Wow.
