BAILEY'S ROAD TRIP

It's pretty funny to see Bailey's progress during the trip.

She starts like this: laid back...comfortable in the back seat.

Then she innocently inches closer...not moving to the front seat, but just casually resting her chin.

Then she ever so slightly moves a little closer...technically not in the front seat. (You can tell by her eye how sly she is!)

"But the center console is a much better head rest."

And then, "Forget it people...aren't we a pack? I need in the middle!"

PLAY DEAD BAILLIE

My chica, Kara, sent this to me! I loved it, especially since it did remind me of my Bailey (by name as well as, looks.) I guess we need to start adding this training to Bailey's routine. I'm sure she could do it!

BAILEY'S SISTER?

It's been snowing here for a while and every morning we wake up to a newly-covered, winter wonderland. The temps finally went above single digits, and it was such a nice break. Although I hear that the singles and below are coming back. (Once again we're amazed at how warm 25 can feel after 3!) I'll admit that we don't have THIS much snow, but this is what Bailey is like in the snow. It's hilarious to watch...I can only imagine if it were deeper here. Bailey the Unknown Reindeer must be related to our Bailey! Turn you sound up and enjoy!

ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY

Today marks the one year anniversary of our fur-child coming to live with us from Chicago's Anti-Cruelty Society. You may recall this introduction to her. Since then we've figured out that she's a foxhound and once traveled with the Latvian Circus. And since there were no records for our Bailey, we've decided to make today her birthday too! (No, she did not get a cake...just a few extra dog bones.)

This is a picture from the first day that we met her...she took to Mr. PoMonkey immediately. We sure have enjoyed having a pup around again.

DAILY BAILEY #9

Bailey just couldn't choose between her monkey and her rawhide. So she chose both! Look closely and you can see the monkey peeking through her paws.

WOW!

This is monkey pre-Bailey.

This is monkey post-Bailey.
(Yes, an arm is missing.)

At least we know she likes her monkey!

DAILEY BAILEY #8

Posting has been sporadic because we've been out of town. Our lovely friend, Anya, has been house/dog-sitting for us. She and Bailey are great buddies. Below is an email that Anya sent while we were gone. We were laughing so hard that we were crying. You may not find it as funny as we did, but if you knew Bailey (and Anya) you would!

Anyway… after we came back in from our morning walk, she went bonkers. She played a game while I was in the bathroom getting ready—she would start in the living room and run as fast as she could to the front door, sliding across the wooden floor the last ten feet and crashing into the door. She did this about nine, ten times. When I went out to check on her and see if she was possessed by the devil, she stopped and pretended nothing was happening (“move along, folks--nothing to see here”).

I went back to brushing my teeth, and about three minutes later I hear her winding up again. Only this time, she navigates two turns, the hallway cabinet, and my feet and slides into the bathroom—running headfirst into the tub.

And then she just lies there on the tile, looking up at me as if everything is normal and she didn’t just come careening into the bathroom like a bat out of hell.

Keep in mind, this is AFTER her morning walk.

DAILY BAILEY #7

After playing outside in the mud and puddles, there HAD to be a bath!

GRADUATION DAY

Well, we're gonna have to find something else to do on Tuesday nights now. Bailey passed her final exam and graduated with flying colors! They provided the diploma, graduation cap, graduation photos, class photos and celebratory doggy ice cream. What fun!

DAILY BAILEY #5

We think that when Bailey sleeps she looks like the FireFox logo.

WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?

Yesterday after work, Mr. Ginger was greeted at our condo door by Bailey, the cutest pooch in the world. Now keep in mind that Bailey plays in her LOCKED kennel during the day while we are at work. So as you can imagine Mr. Ginger was very surprised. The photo above is what he soon discovered. Apparently, Bailey has some supernatural powers and can pull down the kennel door. We're still not quite sure how she did it. But this morning, Bailey went back into a well-reinforced kennel. We'll see if she meets us at the door again today!

DAILY BAILEY

Bailey has warmed up to us quite well...very well, in fact, to Mr. Ginger. We love the Happy Dance that she does every time we come back from being away - even if we've just been in another room! And, of course,
she loves her
first monkey.

AN INTRODUCTION

I wanted to take a minute to introduce myself...my name is Bailey Eppinette. Yesterday I moved in with PoMonkey and Mr. Ginger (who by the way, starting posting again on his blog!)...they adopted me from the Chicago Anti-Cruelty Society. I'm 2 years old and a mix of Beagle and something else...some say Boxer, some say Shepherd, some say some sort of Spaniel. I personally don't really care…I’m just glad to be out of that noisy place filled with barking dogs. I’m potty trained, somewhat crate trained, and my new buddies say it looks like someone had started leash training. I like my new home…I chose to sleep last night completely under their bed, I love belly rubs, and as you can see from the photo below, the back of the sofa is a perfect, comfy spot for me! Well, I’ve got some napping to do. I just wanted to try out this blog thing...it's possible that you'll see less monkey photos and more Bailey photos! (I'm gonna try and sneak them in.)
