HOW MANY OF ME?

You may have already seen this but it's very interesting to me.
  • There are 51,648 people in the U.S. with the first name Ginger. (Statistically the 774th most popular first name.)
  • There are 1,001,066 people in the U.S. with the first name Matthew. (Statistically the 40th most popular first name.)
  • There are 486 people in the U.S. with the last name Eppinette. (Statistically the 53211th most popular last name.)

After I put our names in, I tried to find out the most popular names. I guessed correctly on the last name.
  • There are 3,056,364 people in the U.S. with the last name Smith. (Statistically the 1st most popular last name.)
But it took me a while to guess the most popular first name for a male. (I thought it would be John.)
  • There are 5,055,457 people in the U.S. with the first name James. (Statistically the 1st most popular first name.)
And I STILL can't figure out the most popular name for a female. I've tried them all. Maybe you can help!

Hi Ginger:)
If you click on 'statistics' on that web page it looks like Mary is first for girls. Overall though, it comes out as being 5th.

How fun PoMonkey. I found my first name and nickname are more common than I thought. However if I put in my nickname and my maiden name there are only 2 of us!!! I have to find her, maybe we are twins!!! Oh and using the word "nickname" just made me wonder why we call it "nickname". I will find out and let you know.

Hi! That was fun - how many of the 486 are you related to? (Abbie wasn't very common b/c most are Abigail, and Knaub even less, but more than Eppinette!)

PoMoney I tried a bunch of names and the closest I came was with Mary which they say is 5th. It is driving me crazy now to try and figure out what #1 is.

The site ranks the most popular name not by male or female #1 so John is #1, James #2, I don't know 3 or 4, but then Mary is #5. So it's total people in the that is most popular. So Mary is #1 girl.

There are 22 other Robert Hornaks? I must meet them. And then destroy them.
