Well, here's our results of the Olympic Ceremony Fashion competition. You may disagree...and that's fine. I really did like the outfits of the US. And I even liked the "driving cap".
We had predicted that Italy would have the best outfit, but I was wrong. Nothing was really wrong with it. It just didn't have anything really special about it. Very disappointing!
There were lots of robes, but I think Mali did the best! They were beautiful.
I really liked the gray/orange combo of the Dutch. And I just thought it was a great style. (And the white piping is MUCH better than the Beligians..but I can't find a pic to show you of them.)
I think the Czech Republic did a nice job and I really liked the contrast of the white bag straps. (I really like bags, so that's usually the first thing I notice.)
The entire evening we referred to Hungary as having the measles. This was just hideous!
Turkmenistan didn't choose a very attractive color...not to mention the fact that the men's green clashed horribly with the women's green!
And that scarf/dickie/whatever-that-thing-is that Russia wore was very silly-looking.
And I liked the Swiss! I thought it was different and a nice change. Plus I liked their bags! :>)
And I couldn't find any photos of these but...
I like the polka dot shirts that Mauritius wore.
I thought Finland's dresses were very ugly (but not as bad as Hungary!)
Poland looked okay, but their dresses looked like evening gowns...very dressy!
I liked the ties that the Irish men wore.
And I really liked the womens' jackets from Austria.
...in case you care!

Every four years we breathlessly await the Pomonkey Olympics fashion run down. Thank you so much for not disappointing us!!!!
Better yet, it's every two years since the summer and winter Olympics are split up!
Hungary was pretty bad. Our screen was fuzzy, so I couldn't tell if the red spots were flowers or if they were trying to be red and white cows. Any comments on Thai outfits ;-)? (I don't really remember what they wore for the ceremony, but their daily fashion is definitely different than at home!)
Thanks for keeping me some in the Olympics loop - no tv equals no nothing to see - and the news stories don't equal this commentary!
PoMonkey - - like the bag or not the Swiss have MAN CAPRIS and that makes the bag a PURSE!!
