This is just random stuff from life that most of the time includes monkey photos or monkey stuff.
Why PoMonkey? I like monkeys! And some friends were on vacation and sent us a postcard. They said that they had found the perfect place for us to live...Pomonkey! I agreed. Indeed, it would be fun to live in a place called Pomonkey. And a blog name was born.

Mr. PoMonkey and I arrived in the land of TEXAS today for a conference. We were thrilled to be welcomed by humidity and 75 degree weather!! And it was only 3 minutes after deplaning that we saw our first cowboy hat!
(An interesting side note: as I was preparing for my trip, I discovered that 4 out of 5 people did NOT know what I meant when I said "I can't wait to get those hot pink ROPERS!" I assumed the term "ropers" was known throughout the U.S. I was wrong! So for those of you who don't know...these are ropers!) I'll do my best to keep posting throughout the week. You gotta check out this video. The best husband in the whole world (mine) sent it to me. You just can't beat a video with a monkey and a puppy!!! Hang in there past the first 20 seconds and you'll be laughing too. And you've got to stay until the end of it to get the biggest laugh! If someone (oh, say, someone living in an Asian country) can interpret it for me, that would be great!

I had no idea! Plus, it's in Illinois. I discovered it by going to the website to vote on the Seven Wonders of Illinois. If you live in Illinois, have ever lived in Illinois or ever visited Illinois, you should vote! (Not to sway your vote or anything, a friend wants you to consider voting for the Chicago Botanic Garden in the "Chicagoland" division.)

As I walked from work to the train station yesterday in downtown Chicago, there was the pervasive smell of fresh-made, just-out-of-the-oven chocolate chip cookies!! For the entire 7 blocks! How odd.
Out of all the other "aromatic" possibilities in downtown Chicago, I'm NOT complaining!

My office mate asked me a question today after she entered the office and once again I was eating something banana flavored: "Did you like bananas before your love of monkeys began or do you eat bananas as a result of your love of monkeys?"
Hmmmm...
I never realized I ate that many bananas or banana-flavored treats. But as I thought about it, at least every other day, I have a banana, a banana muffin or a banana granola bar. I've never really thought about it.
The answer? I liked bananas WAY before my infatuation with monkeys began! How do you feel about bananas?
