GET DOWN AND BOOGIE

Most of you know that I have a side business of event planning, a job I love despite the unavoidable stress that comes along with it. Today I had a 70's-themed, costume wedding shower for a client and it was a blast!

Here are some of my observances from the day:
  • Disco balls = instant party!
  • Polyester is really itchy.
  • Everyone, and I mean, everyone stops talking to sing along to "Staying Alive"...50% do the Travolta finger-pointing dance.
  • Children will always be embarrassed by their parents, no matter the age.
  • Cheese and crackers are always the biggest hit.
  • Lava lamps are fun to watch. Period.
  • 2007 fashion is pretty similar to 1975 fashion
  • A mother can make a college aged son do anything...

That sounds like a lot of fun! What a great idea for a shower! Was it a couples shower or was the groom a special guest?

The groom was not at the shower...just showed up at the end to tote all the gifts!

Cheese and crackers, huh? That is probably right now that I think about it, but never a favorite of mine.
